About Dr. Ramisha

I am Dr. Ramisha Farooq, and my path into medicine began at Islamabad Medical and Dental College in Islamabad, Pakistan. From early on, I was drawn to the parts of medicine where I could work directly with patients — listening to their concerns and helping them navigate health issues they didn't always feel comfortable discussing elsewhere.

After graduating, I completed a full year of medical internship at Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital, including six-month rotations in pediatrics and in gynecology and obstetrics. That training gave me hands-on experience across both general medicine and women's health early in my career — and it's where I first saw how much women benefit from having a provider who takes the time to really listen.

Over the years, I've also come to appreciate how closely connected hormonal health and skin health really are. So many of my patients dealing with hormonal acne, PCOS-related skin changes, or postpartum skin concerns have told me how much these changes affected their confidence — not just their skin. That's part of why I pursued additional training in facial aesthetics, so I could offer patients a more complete picture of how their hormones, cycles, and skin are connected, rather than treating those concerns as separate issues.

Alongside my clinical work, I've spent the past three years leading a team of writers and editors at PainsPortal, where I help ensure the health content we publish is accurate, clear, and genuinely useful for the women who read it. Today, I serve as a Women's Medical Officer at Body and Soul Organization, where I act as a primary healthcare provider for women from all backgrounds and walks of life. Whether I'm with a patient or reviewing content for publication, my goal is the same: to make sure women have the accurate, judgment-free information they need to make confident decisions about their health.

What drives me

In her own words

“We bleed, we rise, and we conquer, for menstruation is not a limitation, but a testament to our extraordinary ability to create and nurture life. So let us celebrate our cyclical nature and embrace our periods with pride and grace, knowing that our flow is an eternal reminder of our power as women.”
