About Dr. Musfirah
Hi, I'm Dr. Musfirah Maryum. My journey into medicine began at Islamabad Medical and Dental College in Islamabad, Pakistan, where I earned my medical degree. After graduating, I completed my medical internship at Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH), also in Islamabad.
Today, I'm continuing to build on that foundation as an FCPS (Fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons) trainee in Internal Medicine at ANTH. It's a role that demands both broad medical knowledge and close attention to each patient in front of me — and it's taught me just how much good care depends on really listening to what a patient is telling you, not just treating what's on the chart.
That same principle carries into my work as a medical author. I believe menstrual health deserves the same seriousness and clarity as any other part of the body, and I'm committed to helping women — especially those who are less educated or live in underserved areas — better understand their own cycles and feel empowered to seek care when something doesn't feel right.

“Menstruation is still treated as taboo, even though it's just as significant as any other part of the body. I want to help change that — by raising awareness and empowering women, especially those in underserved or less-educated communities, to understand their cycles with confidence.”
